Dear Dining Hall Staff,

Thank you so much for taking extra time to check my student ID the other night. If it weren't for your thorough efforts, someone could have used a stolen ID to gain access to your delicious, high quality food, and I just wouldn't be able to deal with that. In today's world, it is people like you that keep us safe from the horrendous dangers of dorm food thieves.
